Our preacher for Sunday, August 23rd, is Rev. Rodney D. Patten, Ph.D.
Dr. Patten and his wife of 22 years joined The Park one year ago. They are the proud parents of three sons: Rodney II, Quinton, and Alexander. Qui is active with our Children’s and Youth Committee.
Dr. Patten is an ordained elder in Full Connection in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with 18 years of experience. He served as an Associate Pastor at Christian Chapel Temple of Faith, CME Church in Dallas for 10 years and Sr. Pastor of St. John CME Church in Sherman for 6 years. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Lamar University. He was an undergraduate member of the Epsilon Rho Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He has a Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, and a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Patten is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He is the Chief Prosecutor and Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dallas!
