March 6, 2020: A Message from the Pastor

PastorPastor's Blog

News on the coronavirus (COVID-19) is being updated hourly. Even as the church doors remain open, we remain aware that our church family has many people in vulnerable communities including our older adults, children, and those with weakened immune systems during flu season. As a general rule we will continue to follow the guidance we receive from our local public health agencies and the Center for Disease Control. We ask that instead of hugs and handshakes, that we “fist and elbow bump.” Please do your part by remembering to practice good personal hygiene and taking note of these common-sense measures to help reduce the spread of any contagious disease:

  • Stay home when feeling ill.
  • Properly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and help young children do the same. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid sharing food and beverages when symptoms are present.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throw the tissue away immediately after use.

We will continue with Sunday worship and classes and meetings throughout the week. We ask that you be careful.

Your Pastor,
Dr. Sheron C. Patterson
