Coronavirus Update: March 13, 2020

ChurchPastor's Blog

Dear Hamilton Park Family,

As the coronavirus continues to spread, I want to let you know how your church is responding. We will conduct worship on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. These will be special, cautionary, abbreviated services that include the following:

  1. The Chapel and Sanctuary doors and pews will be wiped with cleansers.
  2. There will be no need to touch any surfaces other than your pew.
  3. We will observe “social distancing,” which means spread out. We ask that you sit on the ends and in the middle of pews to avoid contact with others.
  4. We will remove sections of the worship that require touching, the time to greet our visitors and our friends, and the time at the altar.
  5. There will not be a group dismissal. We will ask that you exit by rows to reduce crowding.

If some of you decide to remain at home, we understand, and want to offer spiritual encouragement. We will have an inspirational video from Dr. Patterson available to send to you. Please let us know by email if you will be remaining at home on Sunday.

Lastly, please be mindful that your church is still functioning, and needs your tithes and offerings. If you are remaining inside on Sunday, we have the following options for giving:

  1. Someone can come by your home to pick up the offering.
  2. You can give online at www.theparkumc.org.
  3. You can use text to give at 972-362-6962.
  4. Drive by on Sunday and drop off your offering in the parking lot to a Parking Lot Ambassador.

Most of all, let us remain calm, pray without ceasing, and do not panic. God is in control. God has not failed us yet!

As the Psalmist wrote in 37:25, “I was young and now I am old, and I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

Your Pastor,
Dr. Sheron C. Patterson
