Introducing Rev. Nerissa Grigsby: September 2019

ChurchNews & Events

Hello Hamilton Park UMC! My name is Nerissa Grigsby and I am excited to serve as your 2019-2020 Perkins Intern.

I am excited to serve this body of Zion as you continue to go higher and to deeper depths in the Lord. I am what you would call “Bapti-Costal” and am a licensed and ordained Reverend in the Baptist denomination. I was licensed on December 19, 2003 and completed my catechism and was ordained on December 5, 2010.

I come from a long line of preachers (grandparents, father, uncles, cousins) and my Father still serves as Senior Pastor of Central Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, PA.

I hold a Bachelors of Arts degree from California University of PA, a Masters of Arts degree from Point Park University and am completing my final year at SMU Perkins School of Theology. I will graduate May 2020 with my Masters of Divinity degree. My full-time corporate position is an IT Project Manager for Wells Fargo.

I have a heart for lost souls and desire to speak to every generation, with Jesus’ message of hope, empowerment and love. I truly desire for every unbeliever to be saved and for believers in Christ to possess their God-given purpose and be effective in the Kingdom of God!

My assignment in the Kingdom is to do what the Lord told me as found in Jeremiah 1:4-5, 9-10: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched her mouth and said, “I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
