lightning storm

Dear Hamilton Park UMC Family,

As you know, severe storms swept through the DFW area on Sunday, June 9, 2019, around 1:30 p.m. Many of our members were ending a Mental Health symposium in the Chapel at that time and were leaving the church when the storm hit. We are happy to report that none of our members, to our knowledge, were harmed. We extend our condolences to those person who were harmed or lost their lives in the storm.

The Hamilton Park Community and our church were impacted by the storm. Sadly, a large and beautiful tree that stood in front of the Child Care Center was spilt in two by the strong winds. Those winds blew debris around our campus. A major clean-up was held on Tuesday and Wednesday. The hailstones pounded our roof, and we are assessing the extent of the damage.

Many in the neighborhood are still without power as of today. To serve our community, on Wednesday, June 12, we knocked on doors and blasted via Social Media free food and drinks to those without electricity from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

If you know of elderly persons and others who need assistance from Hamilton Park UMC, please let us know.
